The theme this week is “investor perspectives” or more specifically, investor sentiment. For a specific list of publicly traded, non-crypto companies that have some level of exposure to cryptocurrencies, either through investments, partnerships, or side ventures, check out Top Crypto Bets via Yahoo Finance.

Q1 this year was profoundly positive in venture funding for the crypto/blockchain sector. Roughly $3 billion was allocated to crypto projects. According to The Block, this quarter also had more crypto/blockchain venture deals greater than $100m than 2019 and 2020 combined...

The theme this week is "blockchain development", specifically the relative rise of crypto. For more on Bitcoin development specifically, check out TradingView's Bitcoin/USD Timeline. Our next post will feature "investor perspectives." 

The Bitcoin market cap now exceeds the GDP of 175 countries. In 2017, the bitcoin market cap was $15.66 billion dollars. It has since grown to $2 trillion as of April 5th, 2021. In short, it took the market over 3 years to grow from $500 billion to $1 trillion, but it recently doubled in market cap in just two months.

The ‘World Economic Forum’ anticipates that ~10% of global GDP will be stored on the blockchain by 2025.

Leaders are increasingly investing in blockchain and digital assets as a top five strategic priority, with 66% forecasting investments of $1 million or more in the next 12 months.

MSU Libraries Award $28,500 To MSU Faculty To Help Instructors Reduce Costs For Students

MSU Libraries Open Educational Resources (OER) Advisory Committee has awarded a second round of grants totaling $28,500 to ten MSU faculty. The announcement was made by Dean of Libraries Joseph A. Salem, Jr., who said the awards are designed to support the goals of the OER program, which aims to help instructors reduce costs for students, improve access to required texts, and increase student success.

MSU Libraries Join Other Big Ten Libraries to Create Collection Available to All Big Ten University...

In a historic and unprecedented maneuver for a group of independent universities, the University Library Deans and Directors of the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) have committed to managing the separate collections of Big Ten university libraries as a single collection. As part of this effort, MSU Dean of Libraries Joseph A.
