Prior to joining the MSU Libraries team in August 2017, Robin Ford earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in German and International Studies as well as a minor in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She also studied Gender Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin during a Fulbright year and earned her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington in Seattle in 2017.

Meet our newest health sciences librarian, Chana Kraus-Friedberg! She just started working for MSU Libraries in July 2017.  


Prior to joining our team, Kraus-Friedberg earned her PhD in Archaeology from the University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Science in Library Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She worked in the UNC Chapel Hill Health Sciences Library, was a Reference and Instruction Intern at the Duke University Perkins Library, and has also worked as an Instructional Designer, Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow, and Critical Writing Fellow.

Michigan's 83 counties are divided into villages, townships, charter townships, and cities.  Collectively these units are known as Minor Civil Divisions.  The differences between them relate to the degree of power they have over their administrative structure, their taxing powers, territorial integrity, and authority over services (Verberg, 1990).  When it comes to matters of property taxes and voting, all state residents look to either their city or township.  A city may annex land from a general law township, but a township may not annex land from a city.
