MSU Libraries subscribes to several resources specialized for accelerating one’s search for information on private M&A deals, venture capital, and private equity funding rounds. Here’s a rundown:
PrivCo
A database built on “Private Company Financial Intelligence.” PrivCo helps to unearth the finances of many private companies and related deals—data that is often kept confidential.
Major Clients: Bain Capital, Goldman Sachs, Google, Forbes, MSU Libraries.

CB Insights
A comprehensive global database with information and analysis on private companies and investors’ activities. CB Insights' Deals Search provides a real-time listing of US venture capital/private equity deals.
Major Clients: Redhat, Microsoft, Salesforce, Cisco, MSU Libraries.

MarketLine
One of the world’s most prolific publishers of global business information. MarketLine Deals tracker provides information on financial investments across industries and countries. Perhaps most intriguing, the search even allows users to filter by “rumor[ed]” deal or “dead rumor”.
Popular MarketLine use cases include:

Resource powered by SDC Platinum data and owned by Refinitiv. Although it’s not (browser) friendly with Safari, Firefox or Chrome, the Deals Module contains M&A, joint ventures, bonds and equity data going back to the 1970s. Use Internet Explorer for best results.
