News from the Gast Business Library - April 2010

Categories:

As we reach the home stretch of the semester, here are some big changes to look for in the Gast Business Library over the summer:

Mergers & Acquisitions: Forecast for Summer Renovations

There will be a number of significant improvements made to the Business Library over the summer. Compact shelving will replace the current fixed shelving for a much greater capacity for printed materials. To help reduce confusion and provide a more consistent layout, the collections of books and journals will also be merged and rearranged.

The Business Library will remain open during the renovations, however, please note the following changes:

  • The quiet study area will be unavailable
  • Group study rooms 14-19 will be closed
  • Books & printed journals will be paged (no public access to the stacks)

Please direct any questions you may have to gastbus@bus.msu.edu. Stay tuned to the Business Library blog at http://www2.lib.msu.edu/branches/bus/ for further updates.

Welcome New Staff

Two new staff members have recently joined the Business Library—Betty Holmer and Virginia Boone.

Betty has 30 years of experience at MSU. She is joining us from the Main Library where she worked as a Library Assistant for 20 years in both public and technical services. Before that, she worked across campus at various locations while completing her master’s degree in education at MSU.

Virginia has worked on campus for 25 years. She most recently worked as a Library Assistant in the Biomedical & Physical Sciences Library. She is currently attending Northwood University and working toward a Master of Business Administration degree.
