I really enjoyed this book because of the raw honesty of the author, especially relating to aspects of femininity. Since reading it, I have continually related to her ideas and analogies about consumerism in my own life. This book allowed me to begin to take a personal approach to the content and has left me thinking critically about my objects and my relationship to capitalism. The book is a little slow to start, but it picks up quickly and is a great read if you enjoy personal essays.

#3 How Successful People Think: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life by John C. Maxwell

This book shows how different ways of thinking can benefit one’s success in all aspects of life. I enjoyed the book because it was organized in a structure that was easy to follow and understand. The chapters of the book all refer to different ways or methods of thinking that could be beneficial, such as big-pictured thinking, reflective thinking, unselfish thinking, and many more.

Each chapter starts off with a paragraph about a "type of thinking" and is followed by a thorough and descriptive list of why it is important or beneficial. Then, the author describes how to utilize and become better at the thinking type, and he relates some of the different types of thinking to each other so that you can learn how to combine them in useful ways. Each chapter is also loaded with quotes from successful people to show how they utilize these successful thinking methods.
